- Children under the age of six travel free of charge.
- Children above five years and under 18 years of age pay the children's fare.
- Period tickets with a children's discount must be activated at the latest the day before the child turns 18 years old.
Remember that you must be able to show that you are entitled to a discount if the driver or ticket inspector ask for it. If you can not show a valid ID, you can be charged with a fee in a ticket control.

- Pupils at upper secondary school (up to 25 years old)
- Students and pupils aged 31 year or younger studying full time at universities, officially approved colleges, vocational schools and equivalent educational institutions that qualify for scholarships from Lånekassen.
- Adults above 24 years of age (unlimited upper age limit) that undertake upper secondary courses in accordance with Norwegian law (Norwegian page).
- Norwegians studying abroad.
- Foreign tongue students under 32 years old that undertake the course "Norwegian language with social studies".
- Full time apprentices are also given the student discount based on the definition in this Norwegian law. For students under the age of 23, we recommend the youth ticket (NOK 299).
A proof of paid semester fee for the spring term is valid through August. For the autumn term, it is valid through January.

- Senior discount is given to passengers older than 66 years of age and to disabled you can show a valid ID provided by Nav.
- A person who has the right to a senior discount's spouse will also have the right to get the discount if they travel together.
- The blind and those who are visually impaired get the senior discount by providing valid proof of the impairment.
- Those entitled to a senior discount do not have to pay the extra fee when buying the ticket in cash on board the bus.

- Personnel who serve military or civilian conscript service get a 50 per cent discount on Kolumbus' buses and express ferries when they show a valid FDID card.

How to use the 24-hour ticket
- Valid for 24 hours.
- The 24-hour ticket is a transferable ticket which can be shared with others.
- Can be used 24/7 on all of Kolumbus' buses and on local trains within the zone(s) you have paid for.
- Can be used on the ferry to Vassøy and express ferries to Byøyene/Hommersåk (except the night sailings).
- On weekends, public holidays and after 5 pm on weekdays, up to two adults and three children can travel together with the bus and local trains using the same 24-hour ticket bought for adult price.
- If you do not buy the 24-hour ticket in the app Kolumbus Billett or in Vy's app, the ticket can be placed on a paper ticket or a Kolumbus Card. A Kolumbus Card costs NOK 50.
More expensive to buy the ticket on board
It costs NOK 20 extra for adults and NOK 10 extra for students/conscripts when buying the ticket on board. Children and seniors do not have to pay the extra fee.

Activation of tickets on a Kolumbus card
Remember to activate your Kolumbus card ticket on a Kolumbus ticket reader before you use it the first time. You can do this on board our buses and boats. If you travel with other transport means, such as the train, you need to validate the ticket before you board the train.
