Terms for use of Kolumbus city bike
Kolumbus City Bike (Bysykkel) is developed and operated by Kolumbus AS. The service works as described under kolumbus.no/sykkel. With this, you enter into an agreement with Kolumbus. Complete terms follow below and summed up they say the following:

1. Responsibility before using the city bike
1.1 You must be at least 16 years old to use the city bike.
1.2 You must enter a valid payment card and mobile number in the Kolumbus ticket app to rent a city bike.
1.3 You can rent a city bike in three ways:
- You have a valid ticket in the Kolumbus ticket app. This gives you 15 minutes use free of extra charge per rental. After 15 minutes, it costs 1 NOK per consequent minute. This will automatically be withdrawn from your registered payment card as soon as you end the rental.
- You are employed by a HjemJobbHjem company and have registered your mobile phone number in the ticket app. This gives you 1 hour use free of extra charge per rental. After the hour, it costs 1 NOK per consequent minute. This will automatically be withdrawn from your registered payment card as soon as you end the rental.
- You can rent a city bike without a valid ticket or employment in a HjemJobbHjem company. This costs 10 NOK and 1 NOK per consequent minute. This will automatically be withdrawn from your registered payment card as soon as you end the rental.
1.4 You do not have the right of withdrawal and consent to that this agreement will be fulfilled by both parties so that the rules on the right of withdrawal in the case of selling of financial services do not apply. For more information, see the Act on disclosure and right of withdrawal in the case of remote sales and sale outside fixed premises (the right of withdrawal) (implementation of Directive 2011/83 / EU on consumer rights) (Chapter 1, §2).
2. Responsibility when using the city bike
2.1 You can use the city bike for a maximum of 12 hours without returning it.
2.2 The bikes are city bikes and should therefore not be used offroad or in skating parks. The city bike shall not be used in or transported to municipalities where there are no charging stations. If Kolumbus must pay for transport of a city bike in such a municipality, the user will be charged the costs.
2.3 You are not allowed to be more than one person on the bike at any time.
2.4 You are not allowed to use the city bike as a work tool for paid work such as goods transport/food transport.
2.5 After use, return the city bike to one of Kolumbus' charging stations or lock it securely outside a charging station if the drive is full. If you leave your bike somewhere other than in one or close to a charging station, a fee of NOK 200 will be charged. You will also be charged this fee of NOK 200 if you leave your bike close to a charging station that has free charging spaces. To park the bike, insert the front wheel of the bike into the charging station. This has a small sensor that tells the system that the bike has returned. You get confirmation in the app on your phone, but feel free to make sure the bike is actually locked.
3. Responsibility if the bike is lost or damaged
3.1 If the bike is not properly positioned in the charging station or locked when you leave it, you will be liable for damages if it is stolen. You must immediately report the theft to Kolumbus. You are also obliged to work with Kolumbus on completing the police report.
3.2 If the bicycle is lost, stolen or totally wrecked and thus not available to other customers, you will be liable for damages. The value of the bike is about NOK 25.000. You will be charged up to NOK 15 000, depending on the extent of the damage, but not more than what the damage costs Kolumbus. Persons under the age of 18 and/or their parents can he held liable for damage on the bikes according to the damages act.
3.3 If something unforeseen should happen, including an accident or loss of a bike, you must contact Kolumbus as soon as the accident is discovered.
3.4 If the city bike is used for something other that people transport, or if any other terms are breached, you will be fined NOK 1000, and Kolumbus may block your access to the bike temporarily or permanently.
4. Your responsibilities when cycling
4.1 You are responsible for cycling carefully and abiding by traffic rules, and you are also personally liable if you injure yourself or any other persons when using the city bike. Kolumbus encourages the use of a helmet.
4.2 Kolumbus is not liable for any damage caused when using the city bike. You can be held liable for any damages you inflict on persons or materials, according the rules in the Norwegian rights to compensation.
4.3 You are personally responsible for the bicycle until you end the lease by returning the bicycle in a charging station or locking it outside a charging station. For this reason, you should not lend the city bike to others.
4.4 You are responsible for having enough battery on your mobile phone to be able to unlock the bike if you have locked it. If you lose your cell phone while locking your bike, this must be reported to our customer service centre.
4.5 The bicycles are continuously checked and repaired. However, you might find a defect bicycle in the charging station. You are responsible for ensuring that the bicycle is in a fully operational state before use. If you notice any major damage to the city bike you just borrowed, please contact the Kolumbus customer centre.
4.6 If misusing the service, Kolumbus can block your access to the city bike temporarily or permanently.
5. Resale
5.1 It is not allowed to resell the service.
6. Privacy
6.1 When renting a Kolumbus city bike, Kolumbus treats personal data about you. You can read more about the privacy of Kolumbus city cike here.
7. Change of terms
7.1 Kolumbus is free to change the terms of purchase, use and privacy. The city bike service is continously developed, and hence the terms of use will be developed too. The at any time updated terms of use will be available here on kolumbus.no.
